White Fatalis/ ミラボレアス Miraboreasu******   [G]

- Dragon

******All 3 Fatalis are called Miraboreas in Japanese Katakana, but only White has its own distinct Chinese name. For Miraboreas quests in Freedom2/P2G, despite all quests having Miraboreas as the target, the type was determined by the area as Black is always fought in Shrade, Crimson in the Lava Island and White at the top of the Tower. For 4/4G, both Crimson types are fought in the Lava Island while the Black and white Fatalis are fought in the Tower and distinguishable by Quest name and type (Black being a normal quest, White is currently episodic only via the Wyvarian character.)

- Weapon (A blade with a "catch")*******
- Dragon

*******A lot of words of this strain for Chinese weapons do not have an English equivalent and are often collectively mistranslated as an English weapon. In this specific case with Gogu, the word refers to a strain of weapons that have an Extra Part that potrudes almost deliberately beside the actual weapon's blade itself where it can either catch an opponent's blade (for weapons similar to the shivs used by Raphael of TMNT) or as a blade itself (Some Chinese spears have a wierd stretched S shaped knife kinda "Attached" to one side), possibly referring to the Dragonator on Gogu's back.
With MH4U having released in English, I think it's about time I posted this >< It's been sitting in my Sta.sh for a while and I never got round to adding small sketches to it. =( Sorry about that.

Specifically, i refer to the titles given to the monsters when referring to the Hunting books and, in the case of the Japanese/Chinese version of the game, A part of Item names. While in the English versions of games, when we go hunt a monster like Rathalos, we kill it, carve it and we get "Rathalos Scales" or "Rathalos Shell". In the Japanese versions of the game, we would go hunt "Rio Reus", kill it, carve it and get "Fire Dragon's Scale" or "Fire Dragon's Shell".

A lot of places, I see people are translating Gogu's word as "Halberd" and also Aguna coatl's as "Halberd". Both of these are wrong, a Halberd is a very specific weapon - a polearm with an axe blade at the end on one side and spikes or hooks on the other side to catch riders and pull them off their horses. Gogu is explained in this text, but Aguna Coatl is very specifically just a knife mounted perpendicularly to the end of a pole so it's like a pick or an axe. Though there is no English equivelent, I still feel like it is incorrect to call these Halberds.

Also note that we are Chinese and I'm only assuming Japanese people use these words in the same way as we do and therefore, they would mean the same thing... Otherwise, things will get very confusing for both of us XD.

Apologies for any typos or mistakes, please point them out to me if you find any.

I'm also not used to submitting Liturature ><

Everything to do with Monster Hunter belongs to Capcom!

Would you mind if I ask a question? Is the forth creature's name in Chinese? If so, then the "yuan" character doesn't mean "monkey" but "ape" instead... I never played this game (only heard about it) but your translation here is really interesting.
