MH4 Title Translations

Description

With the help of my family (Especially my mother), these are the titles of all the monsters found in MH4 translated for anyone who might be interested =p And heres the 4G version.

Specifically, i refer to the titles given to the monsters when referring to the Hunting books and, in the case of the Japanese/Chinese version of the game, A part of Item names. While in the English versions of games, when we go hunt a monster like Rathalos, we kill it, carve it and we get "Rathalos Scales" or "Rathalos Shell". In the Japanese versions of the game, we would go hunt "Rio Reus", kill it, carve it and get "Fire Dragon's Scale" or "Fire Dragon's Shell".

Though i've focused mainly on the Boss monsters, i have included Gagua, Kunchuu and Zuwaro because they have a title of sorts too... I probably should have included Rhenoplos too, which are "Grass Eat Dragons." How about you check out this Comic illustrating that here instead =p.

English official names have been used where they exist at this time of writing and submitting this work and only according to official sources, i.e. Capcom themselves, so new types like the Snake Dragon, Twin-life and Clamp horn types are all just very literal translations >< as well as MH4 exclusive monsters only have their Japanese romanji names. The only exceptions are Rajang, Kirin and Kusha where the only Jap-Eng differences are a possible L or R in pronounciation.

Remobra used to be classified as a Flying Dragon in previous games but have been re-classified as a Snake Dragon in MH4

As for Zaboa's "け" we're all unsure >< Its the Japanese symbol "Ke" and thats all we know DX or so we think? Perhaps a Japanese person can enlighten us on that.

I should also probably note that Rajang's "Lion Child" part isn't a Lion Cub, it is just how we say "Lion" in general. 子 is more for a human's son/daughter sort of "Child" but it is not indicating that we're talking about a child/cub in this case. We have another word for "Child/Baby animal" that we would use instead - 仔.

Also note that we are Chinese and I'm only assuming Japanese people use these words in the same way as we do and therefore, they would mean the same thing... Otherwise, things will get very confusing for both of us XD.

Apologies for any typos or mistakes, please point them out to me if you find any.

Everything to do with Monster Hunter belongs to Capcom!

Edit: Quick fix >< Generu Serutasu and White Fatalis isn't in the game DX.

I don't know if someone has told you what the meaning of the け ("ke") since the dev. is already a few years ago (& I just saw this for the first time >w>) but anyway, the け actually goes together with the kanji 化, so it supposed to be written as 化け (reads: ba-ke) together as a word in japanese, separate them & they will lose the meaning, Japanese-wise, tho the word 化 probably could stand alone in Chinese C:
