Aguna Cotal Spin- Coloured by DarkmaneTheWerewolf Aguna Cotal Spin- Coloured by DarkmaneTheWerewolf
Coloured version of this: darkmanethewerewolf.deviantart…

I also have a Youtube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/DarkmaneT…

Also, if you're an artist or animator yourself, consider joining the Channel Frederator Network, a massive community of friendly and helpful people in the field who have helped me to grow my Youtube Channel and helped me get to where I am today! Join the Channel Frederator Network

Red and Blue aguna cotals together in magic element changing terrain. Also, neither of them are covered in Lava/Ice because it would become too complicated for me ><

I wanted to leave in the faint, rough lines because the lineart on its own seemed kinda plain. I liked the structure the rough lines gave it.

The rough was only 31 frames, i fixed it up and added a few frames to make it a bit smoother so this one's spin animation itself is now 36 frames long. I also put 8 frames into the colour cycle from fire to ice and 8 again when it changes back to loop. So in total, there are 88 frames =p Mathmatical!!

Being 88 frames means this is huge and will probably kill weak internet connections on sight. Full view at your own risk.

Both Aguna Cotal/ Agnaktor variations and all things Monster Hunter belong to Capcom.

So what's your approach for colouring animations like this? Like do you fill every frame with the brush or do you use the paint bucket tool? I've found that the bucket always leaves these unpleasant empty pixels around the edges of the lines:(

Hmmm ok so, I see you created a bunch of layers so that the painting doesn't mess with the lines...SO with every frame o my animation, I should create a transparent layer and paint underneath?

Sorry pal, I'm just a tad confused:3 just bear with me:p

I'll bet this one was a bit tricky;p though the spines and sections would make good guidelines

Wow. Just wow. The creature designs in Monster Hunter are so complex that I can't imagine how hard this must have been to animate! But you got it perfectly; I can practically hear the sound of him striking the ground and tunneling! Simply brilliant.

All frames are drawn by hand either on paper or on something like Photoshop/GIMP/Sai. GIMP can then make a gif out of it, or you can use other pencil testing/ film editing software like MonkeyJam or After Effects to composite those frames together.

I have a few animation guides in my gallery to help you get started once you decide on which media you use =)
